August 10th Enhancements Notification

 

TeamSideline will release our next set of enhancements on Thursday night, August 10th.  In addition to the items below, we have also made many minor improvements throughout the site thanks to your feedback. 

Team Sites and Schedules

As mentioned in an email sent last week, any TeamSideline Team Site will now be able to be linked to any TeamSideline schedule.   Once linked, the games will appear as Events within the Team Site.  These same Events will also show up on the new TeamSideline Team Sites mobile apps for both iPhone and Android platforms. 

Who can use this?  Anyone associated to any game schedules in any TeamSideline Site.  Why would you want to use this functionality?  Here are a couple of examples:

  • A Recreation Department does game scheduling for your Team and you want the schedule in your TeamSideline mobile app.
  • Your district does your league’s scheduling and you can now get these schedules easily added to your Team Site.
  • Your intra-league scheduling is done on a different site – now your Team Site will get the current schedule on any site.
  • You go to a tournament that is run on a TeamSideline site and want the schedules even more easily accessed on your phone.

Here is how you can use this feature:

  • Log into www.teamsideline.com and create a new team.
  • Click on the Events tab and then the Manage Linked Schedules button.
  • Click the Find Schedules to Add  button to search by Organization and Team Name.
  • Click the green plus sign to add your team’s events to your team site.
  • Just click Team Home to see scored Events -- or the Events tab to make specific game updates like Reminders or Staff Notes.
  • When games are scored or game times are changed, you will automatically get the updates on your Team Site app.

TeamSideline Game Card

Did you know that TeamSideline has a game card available under Reports > Report Viewer?  This report allows you to print a generic game card for:

  • Any one of our various registration programs.
  • Anytime you have the rosters populated on the 2 Teams page of your division and you are a Scheduling only customer.  You can type in your rosters manually or complete a Roster Import under Administration > Import Data to upload your teams.

Playoff Schedule Publishing

For Youth Registration Programs, league admins will be able to publish playoff schedules to newly published Team Sites just like admins can publish practices or regular season game schedules today.  Also, admins can link schedules from other organizations to the Team Sites they’ve created for their Youth Registration Programs – handy for schedules for your teams that have been created by other organization TeamSideline sites.  Here are some examples:

  • Publishing a Playoff Game to a new Team Site
    • Go to Programs > Manage Programs and create a new Team Site like you normally do.  Check out http://vzaar.com/videos/917520 if you need a refresher on how to do this step.
    • Go to Schedules > Leagues and Divisions and create both the regular and playoff schedules for the division this team is in.
    • Go back to Programs > Manage Programs, click on the Program Name, then the 5 Team Sites tab.  Click the green icon under the Regular and Playoff columns to publish each of these schedules to the Team Site.
    • Click the house icon to open the Team Site up and view both the regular and playoff games that have been published.
  • Linking a Schedule from Another Organization to your League Team Sites
    • Go to Programs > Manage Programs, click on the Program Name, then the 5 Team Sites tab.
    • Click the house icon to open the Team Site up.
    • Click on the Events tab and then the Manage Linked Schedules button.
    • Click the Find Schedules to Add  button to search by Organization and Team Name.
    • You will see a list of teams matching your search criteria.
    • Once you find the team you want, click the green plus sign to add this set of games to your team site and you’ll now see a linked schedule icon instead of the green plus sign.
    • Now click the Team Home to see the new games added.
    • When the games are scored or game times are changed, you will automatically get the updates on your Team Site.

Facility Management

In our Facility Management Module for this release, we’ve added the ability for an admin to be able to update multiple facilities at one time.  Here are the steps:

  • Go to Facility Reservation > Facilities.
  • Click the Update Multiple Facilities button.
  • Select the Update Type: General or Reservation.
  • Click on the checkboxes to select which Facilities you want to update.
  • Select the different fields you want to change.
  • Click the Update button.

Payment Plans

If your site is using payment plans, the system will now automatically send an email notice five days in advance to your customers to let them know that a charge will be completed on a specific date.  Your customers will now also have the ability to update their credit card information by going to My Account > Payment Plans and clicking on the (change) link located by the last 4 digits of their credit card number.  Admins can also make changes to Payment Plan credit card information by going to the customer’s Account Overview page and clicking on the (change) link located by the last 4 digits of the credit card number in the Payment Plans table. 

Payment Plans also have their own new report under Reports > Report Exports.  Just click on Payment Plan Detail and select all the criteria and data fields you want to report out.

Officials Module

Based on your feedback, we’ve added a couple of improvements to the Officials Module:

  • Go to Schedules > Official Management > Officials and you will now see that each officials’ email address is available and easy to copy should you need it.
  • Go to Schedules > Official Management > Assignments > Admin Assignments and you will notice each Officials’ name is now a link to their Official Overview page.  Click on their name to open up their information in a new tab.

Communication Log

You can now export out the Communications > Communication Logs > Communication Log.  Go to Reports > Report Exports and click Communication Log.  Select all the criteria and data fields you want to review and click the Export button.  Open the file up in Excel to do your review and analysis.

Content > Page Edit

We always want TeamSideline to be usable on any Web Browser.  For example, recently for some versions of Chrome and Firefox there could be an issue when updating a page on Content > Page Edit.  The admin would make an update, save the page, and the page didn’t change.  Our Development Team has resolved this issue – so you can feel free to use any browser you want when updating your public pages at Content > Page Edit or using any other feature within our site.

Please note that the downtime period to enable these enhancements to be implemented will be from 10pm – midnight (PDT) on Thursday night, August 10th.
